As part of the activities of the CMO, a training was also organized for Protected Geographical Indications and Protected Designation of Origin, standards that have been applied in European Union countries for years.
Through presentations by international experts, who are part of the project, farmers and representatives of institutions were told about the history, procedures and benefits that this standardization brings.
On this occasion, a brief history was presented to the participants about where and when the application of Protected Geographical Indications and Protected Designation of Origin began and when they became EU standards.
While in the other two presentations by the experts, examples were given of how the countries, which are now part of the EU, have used and adapted these standards and what are the benefits they bring to farmers, production organizations and consumers.
