Guy Lambrechts
Producer Organisations Expert (Belgium)
Mr. Guy Lambrechts is a Belgian senior expert in Agricultural markets and the agrifood supply chain.
My mission is to increase the resilience of individual family farms and contribute to the farmers’ income, the agricultural markets’ development, and the agrifood supply chain. Horizontal and vertical cooperation in agriculture is at the core of my concerns, marketing standards, quality policy, food loss, and climate change.
I monitor agricultural markets and prices, competition, fair trade practices, production costs, food losses, marketing standards, international trade agreements, climate impact, crisis measures, consumer trends, agricultural extension services, and policy analysis.
After 33 years of experience in regional, national, and international agricultural policy, I help and consult governments and international organisations like the EU, OECD, UNECE, and FAO, as well as farmers and their organisations to increase the degree of organisation, sustainability, and collaboration within the agrifood supply chain through producer organisations, associations of producer organisations, interbranch organisations, cooperatives. Producers can gain a lot by working together and adapting the production in quality and quantity to the demand with an appropriate quality policy and advantages of scale.
